- Ice, Sleet & Snow begin Tuesday AM
- All snow by Tuesday PM
- Snow ends early Wednesday AM
➡️ Extreme Cold Watch has been issued as wind chill values fall to -15°. Actual lows will be near 0° to as low as -5°.
➡️ High confidence NWA receives at least 2” of snow (80-90%). The spread will be from 3-6”+
➡️ Medium confidence the Arkansas River Valley receives at least 2” of snow and/or sleet (50-60%). The spread from 1/2” to 3” depending on whether it’s more sleet than snow or the other way around.
➡️ Surface chart shown is Tuesday morning, notice it’s already starting at that time.
⚠️ Expect school closures, cancellations, delays and air/road travel disruptions on Tuesday and Wednesday. Potentially, into Thursday too due to the extreme cold preventing much melting.

Snow Accumulation Totals…
These maps can be misleading since the actual “total” that stacks up depends on how much of it is snow (higher totals) vs sleet or freezing rain (lower totals). That said, this gives you a good idea of highest impact areas and it’s the same amount of liquid regardless with below freezing temps so travel disruptions areawide can be anticipated.
I would expect the heaviest to fall overnight Tuesday into Wednesday with the onset/start during the day on Tuesday.
The highest snow totals will be in Central and South Missouri.
Extreme cold persists for much of this week with highs near or below freezing and a wind chill from 0° to -15°.
