An approaching storm system will increase both the high level cloud cover along with the wind. South winds could gust as high as 40mph in some locations with the strongest winds favored across Northwest Arkansas.
While the larger low is farther west, pieces of energy or “shortwaves” will break off the low and move east causing an increase in clouds and at least minimal rain chances for Thursday and the weekend.
Rain chances are not high with this system like last weekend.
Gusty winds will also fuel a fire weather concern as vegetation remains brown ahead of the spring greenup.
