This is a look at the upper level wind pattern heading for Tuesday afternoon. This is different than the pattern we’ve been under which has been more of a southwest flow bringing powerful storm systems into the region with lots of wind shear and instability.
A “northwest flow” pattern results in overnight storm complexes with the primary weather hazard being damaging winds. The complexes reach their peak intensity in the early morning hours around 2-5am but often linger into the morning drive.
Often, remnant boundaries are left behind which are reactivated with daytime heating.
The end result will be several nights with showers and storms moving across the area in the middle of the night with spotty afternoon thunderstorms. This looks to be the pattern for the next week with rain chances remaining highest in the overnight.
The severe weather risk will stay elevated for wind but the tornado and hail risk will come down quite a bit in the coming days.

WEATHER AWARD GOES TO
GARRET!!!
On Saturday night. around midnight- we were at our vacation home, NWA. I saw the huge, tall trees swaying like never before in our back yard. I turned on my phone, FB to see Garret’s last posting. HE WAS LIVE!!! TOLD EVERYONE TO TAKE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY!!! TAKE COVER IMMEDIATELY!!! INTENSITY OF THE STORM, MINUTE BY MINUTE , LOCATION- HEADING TOWARD CENTERTON, HAIL LARGER THAN GOLF BALL SIZE, DESCRIPTIONS, MAPS, EXPLAINING EACH MONITOR, THEN, TWO TORNADOS, ONE CLOCKWISE, ONE COUNTER CLOCKWISE, TOLD WHERE THE PATH WAS GOING, ZOOMED IN ON STREET NAMES, THEN SAID BEAVER LAKE- WAS IN THE PATH!!! WE WENT TO OUR SAFE ROOM. Sunday morning- looked out the front door- destruction like never seen before! Telephone poles twisted off laying like tinker toys everywhere, transformers on the ground, wires lying in piles like a bowl of spaghetti. Huge trees laying on the houses, across the roads, like a bottle cap twisted from a bottle, the center of the trees were unscrewed showing the seriousness of the tornado, and not straight line winds!
I’ve told everyone about the “OZ APP” since Garret created it.
LIVES WERE SAVED BECAUSE OF THE DEDICATION AND LOYALITY OF HIS CARE AND COMPASSION TO INFORM THE COMMUNITIES THROUGH VISUAL MONITORS, AND EMPLANING THE MAPS.
THANK YOU GARRET FOR GIVING YOUR TIME AND PASSION TO EVERYONE❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
