Storms Along Cold Front Today

Update:

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 11pm Thursday night. The extent of storm development remains uncertain.

Storms have developed along an advancing cold front and will be scattered across OZ this evening. Hail and damaging winds continue to be the biggest risk.

While the watch goes until 11pm, storms should be tracking east and out of the area before then with the colder air pouring in.

Should any storms turn into supercells, very large hail would be possible up to tennis ball size with winds gusting over 70mph. -Garrett

A strong cold front will drop temperatures about 20º this afternoon with scattered showers and thunderstorms along the front from 3pm to 7pm.

Development seems more likely in Missouri and central Arkansas but a few storms will be possible across OZ from around school dismissal to supper time.

The risk area stretches from the midwest into central Arkansas and back into Texas with an enhanced risk in the orange color.

Here’s a look at temperatures on Friday afternoon. We’ll be parked in the 60s with breezy north winds, much cooler than the near-90s we’ve been experiencing lately.
