Three Things To Watch For…

#1 LOW SEVERE RISK TUESDAY EVENING

Storms develop late Tuesday evening across SE Kansas and SW Missouri. This is around 10pm Tuesday.

The small, “shortwave” is moving across Kansas and north Oklahoma today. This could cause a few thunderstorms to develop along the Arkansas/Missouri state line; generally in Benton County.

The main threat with any storms will be large hail but the number of storms that do develop will not be high.

#2. SEVERE STORMS THURSDAY

After this system, the attention turns to Thursday with several rounds of rain possible through Saturday. There’s a chance for strong to severe storms on Thursday. Rain totals with this event will be in the 1-2″ range again.

Speaking of… here are the month to date rain totals:

Fayetteville: 0.88″

XNA: 0.99″

Fort Smith: 0.79″

#3. COLD BLAST NEXT WEEK

A surge of cold air will move into Arkansas coming up early next week. This shows next Tuesday morning when much of the country will be experiencing below average temperatures. A freeze will be possible Monday and Tuesday night.
