🌪️From an historical standpoint, the tornado risk this time of year is at its highest for Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas.
[NOAA/SPC 1982-2011 tornado historical data]
💧While tornadoes are possible with the next system on Easter weekend; the heavy rain will be a bigger, longer duration issue for us with numerous rounds of rain and rain totals upwards of 3-4” across the Ozarks into Green Country.
⚡️The timeframe to watch for severe weather appears to be late Friday into Saturday and most concentrated along the cold front while Saturday & Sunday will pose more of a heavy rain risk instead of damaging severe storms.
Still tho, this time of year the weather tends to get cranky, quick. It’s a good idea to have a way to get weather information from Friday into the weekend.
The weather simmers down by Monday.
