Each year in the late Winter and early Spring months, the Arkansas Dept. of Forestry conducts controlled burns as part of their land management procedures.
The burns are usually conducted on days with low humidity and breezy winds. Depending on the prevailing wind of the day, you may find yourself in the smoke which could lead to breathing issues for those who have asthma.
Burns are typically in the early to late afternoon when the humidity is lowest relative to the air temperature.
