Heavy Snow Monday in Northwest Arkansas

What Happens Next....

The low pressure system responsible for the snow is visible on the water vapor images you can see in the video. Directly under the upper low’s path is where meteorologists look for the highest snow totals and that happens to be across NW Arkansas and SW Missouri.

4″ of snow has already fallen around Jay, Oklahoma and is spreading east into Arkansas.

Interestingly, the temperatures will be near or even above freezing during the day on Monday. In fact, we may be near 40º from Bentonville to Fort Smith by afternoon. Usually, when this happens, the road problems occur as the heaviest snow is falling. I’m thinking roads will clear up quickly once the snow stops late morning or early afternoon in NWA.

Beyond Monday… looks awesome!!! Highs in the 60s and sunny skies for midweek. Look for the next front to arrive over the weekend with temperatures kicked back into the 40s.
